Art classes at MMA are part of an interdisciplinary approach to education that happens through the use of art supplies. The depth of learning, however, incorporates so much more. Being part of a STREAM curriculum, art classes encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving. Students learn the skills of drawing, painting, and other 3-dimensional art techniques while simultaneously being taught the interconnectedness between what they are creating and its relationship to the world around them. Teaching occurs in a systematic and progressive way and invites students to identify their creative potential in an environment that fosters hands on and experiential learning.
